Microserve Commits $100,000 to Fuel the Fight Against Cancer in BC and Alberta

By Microserve

Vancouver, BC – October 29, 2025 – In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Microserve is proud to launch Fueling the Fight, a powerful new chapter in its community impact journey. Through this pledge, Microserve is committing a minimum $100,000 over the next five years to support cancer care and research across Western Canada. Funds will be contributed to the BC Cancer Foundation and the Alberta Cancer Foundation, fueling progress in treatment, research, and patient care.

This pledge reflects more than financial giving. It represents Microserve’s long-term vision to contribute a minimum $1 million in incremental community impact from 2025 to 2030, as part of the company’s commitment to fostering strong, healthy and inclusive communities.

Standing Strong with the Community

Cancer touches the lives of countless Canadians, and Microserve believes the fight against it must be shared. Alongside this pledge, the company will be actively engaging its employees, customers, and partners in year-round fundraising and awareness initiatives. From participating in charity runs and cycling events to grassroots employee-driven fundraisers, Microserve will help amplify every effort and donation.

“At Microserve, we’re passionate about contributing to strong, healthy communities and grateful for the opportunities we have to make a difference, said Heather Schaan, COO and President at Microserve. Fueling the Fight is our way of providing further support for cancer care and research, while hopefully inspiring others to join us in taking action to help ease the journey for patients and their families. Every contribution—big or small—can make a meaningful difference.”

A Long-Term Commitment

The Fueling the Fight pledge ensures steady, annual contributions that directly support life-saving research and programs across BC and Alberta. The funds will help:

  • Advance cancer research – accelerating innovation in treatment and prevention.
  • Support patient care – improving access to quality healthcare for patients and families.
  • Empower communities – fostering awareness and engagement through events and education.

Employees and supporters who want to contribute directly to Microserve’s commitment to Fuel the Fight can donate directly to our fundraising campaigns with BC Cancer Foundation and Alberta Cancer Foundation, with every dollar going directly to support their important and impactful work:

I have the privilege of leading our People & Culture team at Microserve and am honored to support our Fueling the Fight pledge.  As a breast cancer survivor, this pledge really hits home for me, I know what is like to be in the trenches of what cancer brings to you and your loved ones and will never forget the support I received throughout the journey.  Being part of something like this with the organization you love and work for is beyond fulfilling for me.  At Microserve, we truly care about our communities and strive to support as best we can.
